We’re all for new fashion releases especially if they’re from our favorite stars. This time around, Sydney Sweeney has introduced and unveiled her new collaboration with Ford (yes — the car brand!) and Dickies. The collaboration is for a workwear collection inspired by her love for cars. This isn’t the first time Sweeney has collaborated with the popular car brand. What sparked this new collection was due to the success of the first release earlier this year. According to Ford, the first launch had popular items that sold under 36 hours leading to a push to restock. Read on to learn more about Sweeney’s second collection with Ford and Dickies and how to purchase it.
What to Expect
This unique collection started off with Sweeney’s long-term connection with cars. She grew up in a family who were mechanics, making her constantly be around cars. Apart from this, she owns a 1965 Mustang, which she affectionately named “Britney,” after the original color, “Brittany Blue.” With all these life experiences, Sweeney teamed up with Ford once again to bring a new workwear collection.
Within this collection, the items that are featured are denim coveralls, a racing jacket, a corduroy hat, a t-shirt, and a keychain — that have been manufactured through the brand, Dickies. Each piece combines style with functionality so it can be used in a car-induced environment.
Erica Martin, Ford’s marketing communications manager, reflected on this latest collaboration. She says, “For nearly 60 years, Mustang has represented freedom and self-expression. Collaborating with Sydney and her love for her 1965 Mustang celebrates what that can look like. For Sydney, it meant embracing a new hobby to restore the vehicle of her dreams, and designing a clothing line that makes women feel comfortable and empowered to do the same.”
Fashion Meets Cars
To help showcase these new items, the collection featured females who were into the auto-restoration world. Models that are featured include Adri Law, Gelica Peralta, Sandy Rancatore, Isabelle Rosa, and Lauren Fox. Each of them is seen in the campaign’s photos. Also, each model will be seen in an online lookbook modeling the apparel, which will be available for purchase at merchandise.ford.com. If you’re into cars, the digital lookbook will have informative insights like step-by-step instructions for basic vehicle maintenance, changing a car battery, and checking tire pressure, brake fluid, and oil.
The actress also shared her excitement by saying, “I love working in the garage and was so excited to partner with Ford on a clothing line that’s comfortable in and out of the shop.” Then, Sweeney added, “I was so thrilled that Ford wanted to use auto enthusiasts to model the clothing and create content that teaches people how to do basic maintenance tasks on their vehicles. Being able to take my car into my own hands has been so empowering for me – and I hope this can inspire others who may have never considered working on their vehicle themselves to give it a try.”
How to Purchase
As of right now, the Sydney Sweeney x Ford collection is now live on Ford’s merchandise site here. Prices start at $14.99 with the keychain and go up to $119.99 for the coveralls. The collection will be solely sold online. Be sure to shop early since the first drop of the collection sold out in a quick timeframe.
