Met Gala 2025: Celebrity Red Carpet Looks

met gala 2025 looks red carpet

The first Monday of May has come around again to celebrate fashion’s biggest night, the Met Gala. The Metropolitan Museum of Art transformed into a style-filled atmosphere, and star-studded invitees walked the “blue” carpet dressed to the nines while keeping the “Tailored For You” theme in mind. It was chosen to go hand in hand with the museum’s spring exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” It pays homage to Black dandyism — a cultural movement where Black individuals would use fashion as a form of resistance and self-expression that has ties to the historical European dandy. For the 2025 edition of the Met Gala, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour were the co-chairs. See below some of the celebrity red carpet Met Gala looks that caught our eye.

Although Rihanna showed up fashionably late, she managed to make it a special, memorable appearance. She wore an oversized hat, a spotted scarf, and stripes all over her skirt and bodice. Also, Rihanna was the talk of the night since she showed off her new baby bump, which confirms that she is expecting baby number three with her partner and fellow Met Gala co-chair, A$AP Rocky.

Rapper and Met Gala co-chair, A$AP Rocky, wore a custom look from his creative agency, AWGE. He dressed up in a long black jacket with large lapels, a white buttoned shirt, black wool trousers, and a black vest. As an extra accessory, he paired his look with a gem-studded umbrella.

The Busy Woman songstress made her third Met Gala appearance and decided to leave her pants at home. Carpenter wore a pantless Louis Vuitton bodysuit. It was a burgundy, tuxedo-style look that had glittery buttons and a white collar. And her reason for showing up with no pants? It’s all thanks to Pharrell Williams, who is Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director. She explained, “He was like, ‘You’re quite short, so no pants for you.’ So here we are. Here we are.”

Doechii is another one of the celebrities who made her debut appearance at the Met Gala. She certainly had no “anxiety” when showing up on the blue carpet and wore Louis Vuitton for her look. She wore a jacket that featured a pattern of the brand’s logo while pairing it with checkered shorts, maroon shoes, and a tie.

The PUSH 2 START songstress debuted a new blonde wavy pixie cut as she walked the carpet. Tyla dressed up in Jacquemus in a pinstripe gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a fitted bodice. What elevated her look was wearing a matching jacket with a long train following behind her as she walked.

Another Met Gala co-chair, Colman Domingo, made heads turn when he first showed up in a bright blue Valentino floor-length pleated cape with an embroidered collar. Later on, he went on to remove the cap, unveiling another look. Domingo wore a Valentino look featuring a polka dot necktie, a polka dot flower, and a plaid jacket
