Singers like Sabrina Carpenter have wowed us with a caffeine drink-inspired single while Dua Lipa is here to prove that she’s still the queen of summer with a new album. Sabrina Carpenter – “Espresso”
If you haven’t heard Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song Espresso, we hate to say that you have been somewhat living under a rock. This song has been dominating song charts and populating the TikTok “For You” page. With the catchy phrase, “That’s that me espresso,” Sabrina brings a ’70s-like groove vibe with danceable beats in Espresso. The music video also captures that contagious essence as Carpenter causes mayhem on the beach while singing along to her latest single.
Post Malone & Morgan Wallen – “I Had Some Help”
Despite his rapping origins, Post Malone has proved that he can dominate other musical genres. Malone has made his crossover to other genres by having features in Taylor Swift’s Fortnight and Beyoncé’s LEVII’S JEANS. He recently teamed up with country singer, Morgan Wallen for an upbeat country hit with I Had Some Help. If country isn’t your favorite genre, this song will change your mind.
Dua Lipa – “Training Season”
After a summer 2023 success with Dance The Night, Dua Lipa recently dropped her third studio album, Radical Optimism, just in time for summer 2024. The song, Training Season features lyrics like, “I need someone to hold me close, deeper than I’ve ever known” accompanied by disco-pop beats.
Chappell Roan – “Good Luck, Babe!”
Chappell Roan sings her heart out in her pop single, Good Luck, Babe! Roan described the song to be “about wishing good luck to someone who is denying fate” in an interview with Rolling Stone. Roan wrote this song in a matter of three minutes where she poured her heart out using a real-life experience. The song’s story follows Roan who dated a girl who tried to deny her feelings for Roan. With lyrics like, “You can kiss a hundred boys in bars / Shoot another shot, try to stop the feelings,” Chappell Roan is here to take summer 2024 by storm in this heartbreak hit.
Ariana Grande – “The Boy Is Mine”
The Boy Is Mine is the second single from Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine to get its music video. So, it is only reasonable to add it to your summer 2024 playlist. Grande envisioned the song to be a reimagined version of Monica and Brandy’s ’90s hit, The Boy Is Mine. The song brings a unique take with Grande singing her heart out with lyrics like, “I can’t believe my mind / The boy is divine / The boy is mine” making it a “bad girl anthem” in the words of Ariana Grande.
Billie Eilish – “LUNCH”
Billie Eilish is not afraid to prove her sexuality in her early ’00s-inspired music video for LUNCH. With the song, she expresses her desire and attraction for a woman with bold lyrics like, “I could eat that girl for lunch / Yeah, she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one / And I could never get enough.” With electro-dance beats included in LUNCH, this song will have you vibing at the beach or a pool party.
