The Best Winter Hairstyles to Try This Season

With weeks of winter still ahead of us, you can still embrace the season in a trendy manner. Your winter mood can be repped through either a new outfit or styling up your hair. Some may go down the hair-coloring route by heading to a salon — but, there are less extreme measures. A cute hairstyle can help make your winter look more exciting. Some hairstyles can work under a cozy hat or for those less frigid days, you can choose to go hatless to show off your winter hairstyle. From braided buns to a bubble ponytail, your winter hairstyles will be getting the ultimate upgrade this season.

The Best Winter Hairstyles

Braided Bun

There are certainly days when we rather go for a messy, low-effort bun look. Instead of using an easy route, you can level up your bun hairstyle by adding a braid to go along with it. This hairstyle starts with styling your hair in a regular braid. Then, twist the lower part of the braid by making it into a bun — make sure to add bobby pins to secure it!

Half-Up Half-Down

If you’re still looking for a minimalistic but cute look, this half-up half-down hairstyle is worth recreating. Take the top half part of your hair and tie it with an elastic, leaving the rest of your hair to fall down your shoulders. It’s only reasonable to use a bow for this hairstyle due to its recent rise in popularity. You can use a bold red-colored bow or look for more neutral colors to tie your winter hairstyle together.

’90s Blowout

In recent years, the ’90s have been making a comeback. It has been seen through fashion runways, celebrities, and clothing pieces. Now, for the winter, ’90s hairstyles will be the talk of the season. A ’90s style blowout can easily be done with hair tools at home or you can head to a salon to get it done professionally.

The bubble ponytail is a fun upgrade from your average ponytail. You start by styling your hair into a ponytail, either a high or low one. Elastic bands or rubber bands are needed to section out the ponytail. Once either of those items is on your hair, take each section and pull it outwards. This creates the “bubble” effect of each of the ponytail sections.

Braided Tendrils

As another homage to an iconic decade, braided tendrils are a nod to the Y2K area. All you need to do is style two small braids towards the front part of your hair. Next, you can choose to put your hair in a ponytail, or bun, or simply leave it down. It is a classic and playful look for the winter season.
