With less than a week since the drop of Emily in Paris’ season 4 part 2 episodes, Netflix has dropped some *major* news. The network has officially renewed the series for a fifth season. We will see our beloved leading lady, Emily make her return to the small screen very soon. Emily’s story in Rome isn’t over yet and neither is her story in Paris either. What will Emily in Paris season 5 be about?
There are currently limited details on what Emily in Paris season 5. However, in an interview with Tudum, show creator Darren Star revealed a couple of small hints of what fans could expect.
Star shared that, “We’re thrilled with the incredible response to this season of Emily in Paris and excited to return for a fifth to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris!”

He later added, “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome,” says Star. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.”
So, we can definitely expect to see Lily Collins’ character Emily spend time in *both* Paris and Rome. That’s a relief — otherwise, it wouldn’t be Emily in Paris without seeing Emily in Paris!
Will we see more of Emily’s relationship with Marcello in season 5?
If Marcello stole your heart in season 4 part 2, you’re in luck! The Italian heartthrob will be a major part of Emily’s character arc in season 5. “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,” Lily Collins shared with Good Morning America. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”
Star also teased Emily’s newest romance by sharing, “I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”
When will Emily in Paris season 5 be released?
